Documenting a Wedding in the Heart of South Moravia
I visited this extraordinary venue in late August 2023 to capture the wedding of Peťa and Adam. It was just one month after giving birth, but I couldn’t miss documenting their big day. Peťa and Adam are such a fascinating couple—they caught my attention even during their pre-wedding shoot. Peťa works as a judicial assistant at the Supreme Court, and Adam is a cartographer.
Fun fact: he’s the first cartographer I’ve ever met! (I’ve been lowkey hoping to meet one ever since watching The Chase. Shoutout to Dr. Knoweverything!) Their wedding day was brimming with lawyers, attorneys, and even bailiffs. Let me tell you, lawyers really know how to party! And psychologists too, but that’s a story for another time, haha.
The wedding day started a bit chaotically with a heavy downpour. Fortunately, while the bride and groom were getting ready, the weather improved, and sunshine accompanied the rest of the day. The rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits, and everything went ahead as planned. When you have amazing guests, not even a storm can ruin the vibe.
A Culinary Experience Worth Highlighting
One of the standout aspects of the day was the food. Matky Catering handled it all, and their dishes were absolutely phenomenal. I’m still dreaming about their roasted potatoes! Sadly, they were already booked for my little one’s first birthday party because I would’ve loved to have them there. Those potatoes, though. Seriously, those potatoes!
For the couple’s photos, we stayed within the grounds of Kostka. Though it’s a relatively small venue, it turned out to be an excellent backdrop for photography. I initially worried about the giant windows, which had been splashed with pool water during some playful moments. However, the venue surprised me. It worked perfectly, and we ended up with a ton of incredible shots. Peťa’s dress, chosen from Momentky, was a perfect match for the industrial vibe of the venue and the overall wedding concept. It added elegance and seamlessly tied everything together.
Party to Remember!
The evening festivities kicked off with an epic wedding party. A thunderstorm arrived later, catching me on my drive home. The rain was so intense I had to pull over because I couldn’t see beyond ten centimeters. Despite the storm, the wedding carried on without a hitch. Once the rain cleared, the dancing and celebrations continued into the early hours of the morning.
