Halfway through this summer, I made my way to Hradec Králové for a truly special reason. My friends decided to tie the knot right there in the heart of the city, and I had the absolute honor of photographing their once-in-a-lifetime day. As a wedding photographer, days like this remind me why I love this job so much. And honestly – WHAT A DAY! From start to finish, everything flowed with the kind of energy that only an authentic, relaxed summer wedding can bring. Although the weather wasn’t exactly on our side, it added its own unforgettable twist to the entire celebration.
Chill start to a big day
The Saturday kicked off nice and easy with the groom’s prep, which is always one of my favorite parts of the day. It gives me a chance to document all the calm-before-the-storm moments. First stop: a beard fix at his favorite barber. This simple detail made the morning feel even more personal and grounded in the couple’s everyday life. After that, it was time to suit up. Once the groom was looking sharp and ready to go, I headed over to the bride’s location — and the energy changed immediately.
Girl squad in full action
Over at the bride’s place, things were happening. The girl squad was running the show, and the atmosphere was full of excitement, laughter, and that warm pre-ceremony chaos everyone loves. While the glam team worked their magic, I photographed the beautiful wedding details — the dress, shoes, the flower crown, the rings, and those adorable wrist corsages. These small moments always tell such an important part of the story. And then came the moment. Berenika slipped into her gown and transformed into a straight-up forest fairy. I swear — I’ve been photographing this girl’s life for 13 years, and seeing her like this gave me chills. Crazy how time flies, seriously.
Emotional ceremony in the heart of Hradec Králové
The ceremony itself was emotional, sweet, and beautifully personal. It had all the feelings you hope for in a wedding in Hradec Králové — heartfelt vows, meaningful moments, and so much authenticity. And even though the weather was absolutely not on our side, the couple stayed surprisingly calm. Right after the ceremony, we just barely managed to squeeze in a full-group photo before the sky opened up and the rain came down hard. Despite the downpour, their connection and energy made every minute totally worth it.
Reception vibes and a proper wedding party
The reception was perfectly chill — full of laughter, stories, hugs, and all those warm, familiar feelings that come with celebrating love with the people who matter most. Even though the day started softly and slowly, the evening was a completely different story. As soon as the music hit, the dance floor came alive and the whole place transformed into a proper wedding party. Wild moves, loud laughs, and that unbeatable “we made it!” wedding energy filled the space right until the end. This is exactly what I love about weddings like this: authentic moments, genuine connections, and celebrations that feel true to the couple. Nothing forced, nothing overly scripted — just joy.
Shooting between rain showers
One thing that definitely kept us on our toes was the rain. Because of those sudden showers, we had to squeeze the photos — group pictures, newlywed portraits, and everything in between into the small dry windows instead of spreading the shooting throughout the day. But honestly? Bea and David handled it like absolute legends. They stayed patient, relaxed, and fully in the moment, which made the whole experience not only manageable, but genuinely enjoyable.
