Autumn Wedding in Vysočina: A Magical Celebration at Mohelenský Dvůr
On October 1st, I set off towards Mohelenský Dvůr for my last wedding of 2022. It was my second time photographing at this enchanting venue, and despite it being a different wedding, a different year, and a different season, the weather was almost identical – cold, windy, gloomy, and rainy. I’m starting to think that Mohelno (or maybe just me?) is somehow cursed because every single time I visit, whether for work or a family trip, the weather is always unpredictable! : D Rain or no rain, I absolutely love this place.
Mohelenský Dvůr is a charming and cozy venue, instantly recognizable by its iconic black storks. Since they firmly believe that love goes through the stomach, you can expect an outstanding gastronomic experience. Beyond that, this location offers a rustic yet intimate atmosphere, thanks to its beautiful lighting, making it perfect for weddings and other celebrations. With a professional team ensuring everything runs smoothly, it’s no wonder that this wedding venue in Vysočina ranks among the top wedding locations in the Czech Republic.
A Dreamy Autumn Wedding
For their autumn wedding, Barča and Matěj chose this stunning venue – and it was absolutely perfect! As someone who adores autumn and autumn weddings, I was beyond excited. Plus, it was great to return to a place I already knew and loved. Even better, Barča happens to be a friend of my longtime best friend, who played the role of maid of honor that day. Talk about a win-win situation!
Wedding Preparations
During the preparations, I only photographed the bride getting ready since the groom was already dressed and busy welcoming guests. The atmosphere was fantastic, filled with laughter, chatting, a bit of nervousness, and plenty of excitement. Barča was also getting their two adorable little daughters ready, and they looked absolutely precious. As for Barča herself, she was breathtaking in her dress from Bella Bridal Salon. And those long, flowing locks of hers? Not jealous at all, not even a little bit!
This wedding day was truly special and unforgettable. Everything flowed smoothly—literally, since the couple’s last name is Hladký (which means “smooth”), haha! The guests were incredibly kind and warm-hearted, making it the best possible way to wrap up my 2022 wedding season. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better ending. Thank you, Barča and Matěj, for allowing me to be part of your incredible day and capture these precious moments!
A Ceremony Full of Emotions
The wedding ceremony was accompanied by beautiful soft music, but more importantly, it was filled with overwhelming emotions and happy tears from all sides. It was truly moving to witness and be a part of such heartfelt moments. During the reception, there was a relaxed, party-like atmosphere with a mix of free time and fun wedding games, including the bouquet toss—which was hilarious because the lucky catcher had already caught about four bouquets that year! : D
For the couple’s portrait session, we didn’t have to travel far. Just a few minutes’ drive away is the breathtaking Mohelenská Hadcová Step, one of my absolute favorite locations. This national nature reserve, covering 100 hectares, is one of the most famous steppes in the Czech Republic. It’s renowned for its unique flora and fauna, and the landscape offers incredible panoramic views (including one of the Dukovany nuclear power plant). Shooting here is always pure joy, and not even the cold and drizzle could take that away from us.
