SafeSpace: Queer Rock’n’Roll Wedding in Prague

Concept Full of Authenticity and Playfulness

Our styled shoot, set in the heart of Prague within an independent bookstore SafeSpace and café Crunch, captures the essence of modern love—unconventional, unapologetic, and full of life. Every detail, from the soft pink neon lights to the raw textures of the bookshelves and walls, highlights the contrast between romantic and gritty elements, creating a unique and authentic vibe for the shoot.

We chose a styling that was just as original as the concept itself. Our couple was styled with a beautiful blend of elegance and rock-inspired edge. The bride wore feathered white dress paired with fishnet tights and chunky black boots, while the groom sported a sequin gown with bold tattoos and platform combat boots. The combination of short and long dresses with different textures created a stunning contrast, adding a glamorous touch without losing the rawness of the rock vibe.

A Wedding Inspiration that Embraces Individuality

This shoot was truly one of a kind, both in terms of style and approach. It was a wedding day full of spontaneous, unplanned moments that made it memorable, much like how a wedding day itself unfolds. That’s the core of what we wanted to capture—freedom and authenticity, allowing the couple to celebrate their love exactly as they envisioned.

After all, a wedding is about celebrating love in its purest form. A major highlight was the bouquet, which created a rainbow when put together—such a beautiful and symbolic representation of embracing all colors, all differences. This idea is a perfect example of the inclusive spirit we wanted to showcase.

For this shoot, sustainability was an important element. The dresses worn by the bride and groom were second-hand, which not only supports eco-friendly choices but also serves as inspiration for couples who want to plan a wedding that’s mindful of the environment. This decision proves you can have a stunning and stylish wedding without investing in brand-new items that often lack any meaningful story.

Things Often Don’t Go According to Plan… and That’s Okay!

Like most photo shoots, this one wasn’t without its complications. Our day started with a small hiccup—when we arrived at SafeSpace, they had forgotten about us! But instead of stressing out, we embraced the unexpected and found a new location: Crunch café. While we were shooting there, SafeSpace got in touch, and although we had limited time left (our models had to leave soon), we managed to grab just 10 minutes at the original location.

The whole experience was a great reminder that things don’t always go according to plan, but it’s about how you roll with the punches. Being able to adapt and not get thrown off course is what makes these moments even more memorable. Sometimes, the best parts of a shoot come from the surprises that happen along the way!
